Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University continues our commitment and dedication to both human welfare and environmental responsibility through charitable initiatives in July 2024.
On 12 July 2024, representatives from STOU Nonthaburi Student Club delivered donated reusable items to Mrs. Rattip Phukkeson, Acting Director of the Department of International Affairs and
Mr. Tamphong Wongchan, Acting Director of the STOU’s Regional Academic Resources and Community Engagement Center – Nonthaburi.
The donated items will be sorted and distributed to the following places.
- Clothes and shoes would be distributed to The Mirror Foundation.
- Full-body stockings and hard plastic cups would be distributed to the Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Institute (SNMRI).
- Lottery tickets would be distributed to Wat Huai Mu – Ratchaburi.
- Cloth bags, paper bags, and beauty accessories and cosmetics would be distributed to Thammasat University Hospital.
On 19 July 2024, Miss Pattamarat Sumransuk, an Examination Coordinator represented the university to deliver donated medicines to Umphang Hospital. These medicines would be distributed to nearby hospitals serving underprivileged communities.
On the same day, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gan Chanyawudhiwan, Acting Vice-President for Academic Services, Cultural Preservation, and International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapan Thanee, Director of the STOU’s Regional Academic Resources and Community Engagement Center – Ubon Ratchathani, and representatives from STOU Student Club made donations to
‘Ubon Hug Paeng Home for Protection and Development for Persons with Disabilities’ and ‘Ubon Ratchathani Protection Center for the Homeless.’ The directors of both organizations accepted the donations. The donated items included medicines, clothes, cloth bags and paper bags, which would be distributed to those in need.
STOU collaborated with the Citizen Volunteer Project of the Thai Volunteer Service to ensure the donated medicines and medical equipment were properly categorized before being delivered to those in need.
