Research Awards Ceremony 2024

On 4 September 2024, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU) organized the Research Awards Ceremony 2024 to promote the distance education system of STOU, which was held in celebration of the 46th year Anniversary of STOU on 5 September 2024.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Phanompatt Smitananda, Acting President of STOU, presided over the event and presented the Research Awards 2024. The research awards ceremony aims to foster a research-oriented environment at the university and motivate staff to conduct high-quality research that contributes to the development of the university, society, and the country. This year’s awards recognize 11 research projects, with 2 projects received Excellent Research Awards and 9 projects received Good Research Awards. All the award recipients were presented with honorary plaque and a monetary.

Excellent Research Awards 2024: 2 projects (Distance Education)

Title: The Development of a Chatbot Provide Registration Information Services for Students in Distance Learning

Researcher:  Dr. Supamas Chumkaew from the Office of Registration, Records and Evaluation

Title: Development of Smart Learning Resource Management Systems for Supporting Open Online Learning and Life Long Learning

Researcher: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gan Chanyawudhiwan, Acting Vice-President for Academic Services, Cultural Preservation,
and International Affairs and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemmanat Mingsintham from the Office of Educational Technology

Title: A Development of Chatbot for Automatic Answering for Master’s Degree Students, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University

Researcher: Asst. Prof. Dr. Songlak Sakulwichitsintu.

Title: Development of the Podcast Learning Model for Distance Education in Higher Education of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University

Researcher:  Asst. Prof. Dr. Phantipa Amornrit and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patthanan Bootchuy from the Office of Educational Technology

Title: Developing a Self-learning Model Using Mind Map to Enhance Academic Achievement of Middle-aged and Elderly Undergraduate Students in the Distance Education System of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University
